What is a poor tourist to do when he/she has less than 48 hours to explore one of the most fascinating cities in the world? Follow one of these three “Rio in X Hours” guides available, of course.

1 – The New York Times published a 36 Hours in Rio special that includes seafood by the beach, samba at Lapa neighborhood and a tour of downtown that misses the unmissable Confeitaria Colombo.

2 – British daily The Independent’s offers two alternatives for those spending a short time in town. The first is the mini guide 48 hours in Rio. The paper also produced a video  presented by travel editor Simon Calder (with a Caribbean song as soundtrack, oh Lord!)

3 – Reuter’s has its own 48 hours guide version.

Bonus – If you still don’t know what to do in Rio, check this outstanding love declaration to Rio. I am sure it will give you some ideas – or, at least, it will make you salivate.

Bonus 2 – Check this other amazing high definition video of Rio’s landscapes:
